To Love is to Let go
To let go gives the impression that something has been lost? Well, remember this quote?
"If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, its your's forever.
If it doesn't, then it was never meant to be."
Sounds great, right? Oh yes, just let it go! (now the Frozen song is running through my head)
Maybe you've even said, "sure I'll let it go, cause I'm sure it will come right back!" What if to let go was to love?
Well, recently I have found myself feeling the pain of "letting go" of something which I care about greatly...why? Because it was the right thing to do! The comical side of it all, is that I didn't even realize what I was doing until it was gone. I truly wanted what was best. Not realizing it might cause some pain. The neat thing in all of this is that I am at peace, knowing that is worth gold. As a friend and mother I am responsible to give to these relationships out of what is right, pure and noble not out of what I feel an outcome should be or what I want out of it.
Which it always brings me back to 1 Corinthians 13.
Unconditional love has an opportunity to be shown in all areas of our lives.
I could sit and feel sorry for myself but I choose not too. I see it more as a place for me to grow. I want to be a woman that people know will do what's right, whether it benefits her personally or not. The way I see it, is that if I can play a part in you creating your destiny and journey, then that would be a great reward! For our treasures are not here on earth but in heaven. And on that day I meet my Savior, face to face, I want to hear the words, "Well, done good and faithful daughter."
Have I made mistakes and let "feelings" take over....sure. But it is no excuse not to learn and tune my heart and ears to the Lord for the next time an opportunity presents itself.
How about you? Have you experienced a moment where to let go was harder than to hang on? There is such power in numbers and to know that we all go through life with Christ at our side and joy in our hearts is one of the most empowering feelings one can ever imagine!
My encouragement to you is to always put your heart and "feelings" in check. Line it up with sound wisdom and things will go well with you!
Be patient. Love continuously. Be courageous to do what's right.
